Privacy Policy

Effective date: 15 February 2026

Wisped (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a lightweight iPhone app and iMessage extension that helps couples turn messages into shared tasks. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Quick summary

No ads. Wisped is not an advertising product.
No selling data. We don’t sell your personal information.
No message scraping. We don’t read your iMessage conversations. Only the task content you choose to “Wisp” is stored as a task.

1. Data we collect

Wisped is built to collect as little as possible. Depending on how you use the app, we may process:

Task data you create

When you send a Wisp, we store the task content and task metadata such as creation time, completion status, and (if applicable) who it was sent to within your shared space.

Partner linking (optional)

If you link with a partner, we store what’s needed to associate your shared task list (for example, an internal identifier for each participant). If you select a partner from your Contacts using the iOS picker, Wisped does not upload your entire address book; it only uses the selected contact details needed to perform the link.

Notifications (optional)

If you enable notifications, Wisped uses device notification tokens to deliver alerts (e.g., when a task is completed). You can disable notifications anytime in iOS Settings.

Diagnostics (limited)

We may collect basic diagnostic information to keep Wisped reliable (for example, crash reports). This is typically provided through Apple’s platform tooling and may include device type, OS version, and crash traces.

What we do not collect

We do not sell personal data. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. We do not read your iMessage conversations.

2. How we use data

We use your data only to operate Wisped, including:

  • Creating, syncing, and displaying tasks you send as Wisps
  • Linking you with your chosen partner for a shared list (if enabled)
  • Sending notifications you choose to receive
  • Fixing bugs and improving stability through limited diagnostics

3. Sharing

Wisped shares your task data only in these cases:

  • With your partner (within your shared list), because that’s the core feature.
  • With Apple platform services as needed to provide iOS functionality (e.g., syncing or notifications, depending on your device settings).
  • With service providers only to the extent required for diagnostics (e.g., crash reporting via Apple tooling).
  • Legal/safety: if required to comply with law, protect rights, or prevent misuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Retention

We keep your tasks for as long as you use Wisped, unless you delete them. If you remove Wisped or disable syncing, task data stored on your device may remain in your local device storage unless you delete it via the app or by removing the app.

5. Your choices

  • Notifications: Manage in iOS Settings.
  • Partner linking: You can unlink (if available in the app) and stop sharing future tasks.
  • Task deletion: Delete tasks inside Wisped.
  • Contact selection: If you don’t want to use Contacts, you can avoid linking via Contacts-based selection (if alternative linking is provided).

Children

Wisped is intended for general audiences and is designed for couples/household coordination. If you believe a child has provided personal data through Wisped, contact us and we will help address it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Wisped evolves. If changes are material, we’ll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide a notice in the app or on the website.

Note: This page is a general privacy policy template tailored to Wisped’s concept (iMessage → shared tasks). If you want, paste your actual storage/sync approach (e.g., local-only vs iCloud/CloudKit) and I’ll tighten the wording to match your implementation exactly.
