Getting started
How do I set up Wisped?
1. Download Wisped from the App Store and open it.
2. Tap "Invite Partner" — this generates a link.
3. Send the link to your partner via iMessage, AirDrop, or any method.
4. Your partner opens the link, installs Wisped, and accepts the invitation.
5. You're linked. Open any iMessage conversation, tap the Wisped icon in the app drawer, and send your first Wisp.
How do I find Wisped in iMessage?
Open a conversation in Messages. Tap the ⊕ button next to the text field, then look for the Wisped icon in your iMessage apps. If you don't see it, scroll right or tap "More" to find and enable it.
Does my partner need to install the app too?
Yes. Both partners need Wisped installed and an active iCloud account. When you send the invite link, your partner will be guided through the setup.
Troubleshooting
My partner didn't receive the invite
Make sure iCloud is enabled on both devices (Settings → [your name] → iCloud). The invite uses CloudKit sharing, which requires an active iCloud account. If the link doesn't work, try generating a new one from Wisped's settings.
Tasks aren't syncing between our devices
Check that both devices are connected to the internet and that iCloud is enabled. Open Wisped and pull down to refresh. Syncing relies on iCloud (CloudKit) — in rare cases, there may be a short delay.
I don't see Wisped in my iMessage apps
Go to a conversation in Messages, tap the ⊕ button, scroll through the app icons, and look for Wisped. If it's missing, tap "More" at the end of the row and make sure Wisped is toggled on. If you just installed the app, try restarting Messages.
The app shows "Partner disconnected"
This means your partner has unlinked their account. You'll need to send a new invite link to reconnect. Tap "Start Over" in the app and generate a fresh link.
Notifications aren't working
Make sure notifications are enabled for Wisped in Settings → Notifications → Wisped. Also check that Background App Refresh is turned on in Settings → General → Background App Refresh.
Account & privacy
How do I unlink from my partner?
Open Wisped, go to Settings, and tap "Unlink Partner". This disconnects both accounts. Your partner will see a "Partner disconnected" screen the next time they open the app.
Where is my data stored?
All your data is stored in iCloud using Apple's CloudKit. There are no third-party servers. Your tasks stay between you and your partner — we can't see them.
How do I delete my data?
Unlink from your partner in Settings, then delete the app. Your data in iCloud will be removed. If you need help, contact us at info@wisped.app.
